Summer Reading Camp.

A 6-week virtual vacation around the world!

The summer slide.

Per Scholastic, kids lose 20% of their school-year gains in reading during the summer break, entering the next school year in the fall at a lower reading level.

To prevent this summer slide, studies have found that summer reading programs like Explore by Mail's Letters from Around the World reading challenge is highly effective.

Explore by Mail's reading program keeps your child reading all summer long by igniting their interest in the world.

Stop the slide.

Letters from Around the World is a fun reading challenge for the whole family. It takes you on an epic journey around the world to 6 countries and 24 cities!

Every week go on a virtual expedition to explore a new country with our explorers, Sydney & Aiden. Use their colorful, hand-illustrated letters, and hands-on, educational activities to being countries to life.

This program:

  • keeps kids reading skills sharp,
  • stops the dreaded summer slide,
  • helps kids grow academically, and
  • strengthens family relationships.

Happy travels!

How it works.

We bundled all 6 of our online classes (countries unit study) to create our summer reading program. Using this bundle, our reading challenge takes you on an expedition every week to explore a new country.

Explorers receives a virtual passport and collect reading miles as they read their way around the world. Upon completion of the program, they receive a certificate.

1) Signup for our Reading Camp.

2) Follow the path on the Expedition Map for each country to locate 4 checkpoints.

3) At each checkpoint read the corresponding Explorer Letter. Collect 1,000 reading miles at each checkpoint.

4) Use the Virtual Passport to track your journey around the world and collect reading miles as you go.

5) Download Certificate of Completion when you complete the reading challenge.
